Teddy’s Testimonial

Goldendoodle, 9 weeks old

“Let me start by saying I would have never gotten a dog in the first place if it wasn't for Holly! I have never had a pet in my life and after my kids (and husband) had been asking for a dog for years, I finally agreed to at least consider the idea. My friend told me about Positive Start Dog Training, and I gave Holly a call. She spoke to me for over an hour and answered all my questions, and when we hung up, I was like "ok, I think I can do this!“. Knowing that Holly would hold my hand and guide me through this process, took all my anxiety away.

Fast forward a couple of months and we picked up Teddy, a 9-week-old Goldendoodle from the breeder. We took him straight to Holly's house for his board and train hybrid program. I knew from talking to Holly that she was an animal lover, that she had a ton of experience training all sorts of different animals, and that she was very passionate about her work. But that was about it, I didn't really know what to expect from the training, I was just happy I didn't have to do it alone! But let me tell you, Holly exceeded our expectations from day one!

Every day Teddy stayed with her, we received multiple videos documenting all the training she did with him, explaining how to do it, and why she did it the way she did. So awesome and fun to follow his progress, and so helpful for us to learn along with him!! Holly was also super available via phone and text during the days we had him at our house and was very supportive and accommodating with any questions we had any time of the day or night. She also gave us detailed written homework for the training, so we knew exactly what to work on with Teddy and how to do it correctly, what commands to use, etc.

We all learned so much in the process and it was such a joy to work with Holly and watch her do what she does best! She has a magical touch with animals and sometimes it looks like she just waves her magic wand and the puppy listens. As much as I will never achieve Holly's magical touch with Teddy, we are doing pretty good on our own so far :) My babysitter came over to watch him today and I "showed off" some of Teddy's tricks. She was in awe and given she is an animal lover with tons of dog experience, I felt pretty proud when she exclaimed: "He is the most well-behaved puppy I have ever seen!"
